Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Houston Owner’s Guide
If you’re planning a home addition or ADU in Houston and want Caesarstone surfaces in the new space, the typical installed project range runs $45,000 – $130,000 depending on square footage, foundation work, and the Caesarstone color you select. The Caesarstone-specific portion, meaning the countertops and surface fabrication, usually lands between $2,000 and $6,500 for a typical kitchen or wet bar layout. Most Houston homeowners reach out after they’ve already bought a Caesarstone slab or remnant from a local fabricator and discovered their general contractor isn’t comfortable cutting or installing it, or after a first attempt left a seam or edge that doesn’t sit right. That’s the call we take most often: the surface is there, the space is framed, and the homeowner needs someone who actually knows how Caesarstone behaves on a saw and at a seam.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone is a quartz surface, not a natural stone, which means two slabs of the same color are far more consistent than granite or marble. But compatibility still matters. The brand makes multiple thicknesses: 2cm and 3cm are the most common for countertops, with 3cm being what we strongly recommend for Houston kitchens and ADU wet bars. A 2cm slab often needs a laminated edge to look right, which adds a fabrication step and a visible seam line if the fabricator rushes it. We’ve also worked with Caesarstone’s outdoor lines in Houston, where UV exposure and slab expansion from the heat are real factors that a natural stone installer might not plan for.
Identifying your specific slab is straightforward: the back of a full slab carries a Caesarstone label with the color name and lot number. If you only have a cut piece or remnant, check the underside for a printed color code. The OEM-versus-aftermarket question doesn’t apply to the slab itself, but it does apply to the supporting materials: sinks, mounting brackets, and seam adhesives. We use the Caesarstone-recommended adhesive colors and the slab manufacturer’s sink templates, not whatever is cheapest at the local supply yard, because a mismatched adhesive on a white or light Caesarstone color shows up as a yellowing line within a year. We’re an independent contractor in Houston, not affiliated with Caesarstone, which is exactly why we follow their fabrication specs so closely.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- A visible seam that wasn’t there a year ago. Quartz slabs expand and contract with Houston’s temperature swings, and a seam cut too tight or joined with the wrong adhesive will open slightly. It usually appears as a faint dark line that won’t scrub clean.
- Chipping at the countertop edge near the sink or cooktop. Caesarstone is hard, but a dropped cast-iron pan or a misaligned dishwasher bracket will chip it. Once water gets into the chip, the edge can start to crumble in small pieces.
- Discoloration or a dull spot where hot pans or sunlight hit. Caesarstone is heat-resistant, not heat-proof. A lot of Houston ADUs have west-facing windows over the counter, and repeated direct sun plus a hot pan can leave a cloudy spot that won’t polish out.
- The sink is pulling away from the Caesarstone. This is an install failure, not a slab failure. Undermount sinks require mechanical support, not just adhesive. When the clips are skipped, the sink sags gradually and the silicone line tears.
- Hairline cracks running from a corner cutout. Inside corners at a cooktop or sink cutout are stress points. If the fabricator cut a sharp inside corner instead of a radius, the crack starts there and runs outward. Houston’s clay soil movement in older homes makes this more common than people expect.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

When the Caesarstone surface within a larger Houston addition or ADU needs replacement, we quote the slab work separately from the structural work. Countertop installation alone runs $2,000 – $6,500 in this market, and a full home addition or ADU build with Caesarstone surfaces included is $45,000 – $130,000. What drives the range: the Caesarstone color (some hues are in a premium price tier), the edge profile, the number of seams, and whether the slab has to travel from a local Houston supplier or be ordered from a regional warehouse with a two-week lead time.
Every quote includes the removal of the failed surface, haul-away, template and fabrication, adhesive, seam joining, sink mounting, and cleanup. You’ll get a written price before any work starts, and that price does not change once the crew arrives. If the finished surface is not right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we return and correct it at no charge. That’s the only way we’ve found to do quartz work in Houston without the price shifting mid-job.
DIY or Call Us?
What you can safely do yourself: check the underside label to confirm your Caesarstone color, measure the slab thickness with a tape measure, and look for chips or cracks before they spread. Keep a note of when you first saw the problem and whether it’s growing. What you should not do yourself: cut, seam, or lift a quartz slab. A full 3cm Caesarstone slab weighs over 600 pounds, and a dropped edge shatters pieces that are sharp enough to send someone to the ER. Fabrication also creates fine silica dust, which is not something you want blown through a Houston house with kids and pets. If the surface has failed or the install was done poorly, call (254) 272-5240 and we’ll send someone to look at it, measure it, and give you a written price.
FAQs

Caesarstone surfaces routinely last 15 to 25 years or more in Houston when fabricated and installed correctly, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the workmanship on our installation beyond the slab warranty. The slab itself carries a manufacturer warranty that travels with the materials. Call (254) 272-5240 for a specific warranty check on your color and lot.
Chips and small cracks can often be repaired with a color-matched resin fill, but seam failures and structural cracks around cutouts usually require replacing the affected slab section. A quick inspection tells us which route makes sense. Schedule a free estimate at (254) 272-5240 and we’ll give you a straight answer.
After the template appointment, fabrication typically runs one week, and the installation itself is completed in a single day, sometimes with a short follow-up visit for silicone cure time. The largest variable is slab availability in Houston. We’ll tell you the timeline before you commit.
We keep a small inventory of common Caesarstone remnants for patch work and small bathroom vanities, and we can match most colors through our Houston suppliers within a week. If your color is discontinued, we’ll talk through the closest current match. Call (254) 272-5240 and we’ll check availability for your exact color.
