Tremron Kitchen Remodeling: The Houston Owner’s Guide
If you have a Tremron kitchen surface or component that’s cracked, delaminating, or pulling away from its substrate, we can match it and install the replacement. Our Houston clients typically spend between $14,000 and $45,000 on a full Tremron-compatible kitchen remodel, with smaller scoped replacements like a single countertop run or backsplash section falling well under that. Most owners discover the problem the same way: water finds a hairline crack near the sink, a seam separates by the cooktop, or a corner chips when a pan clips the edge. We stock Tremron-compatible materials on the truck for common repairs and can order exact-match replacements for anything we don’t carry.
Elmstead Remodeling Houston is an independent contractor. We are not affiliated with Tremron, but we have worked with their product lines across enough Houston kitchens to know which failure modes show up first and which replacements actually hold up in our humidity.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron’s kitchen line spans solid surface, quartz, and porcelain products, and the compatibility details vary by series. The Tremron solid-surface lines (pure acrylic and acrylic-blend sheets) can be seamed nearly invisibly and repaired by a fabricator with the right color-matched adhesive. Their quartz lines come in 2cm and 3cm slabs, and that thickness difference matters more than most owners realize. A 2cm quartz countertop over a plywood substrate fails differently than a 3cm slab set directly on cabinets. If your seams are opening or your edge profile is chipping, tell us which thickness you have before anything else.
When we match a Tremron piece, we look for the fabrication label under the front edge or inside a sink cutout. That label gives us the color code, the batch number, and often the fabrication date. For aftermarket replacements, we default to the exact Tremron spec first. If a color is discontinued or a batch is unavailable, we recommend a Cambria, Silestone, or KraftMaid cabinet-compatible alternative that matches the existing palette. We will show you the physical sample against your existing surfaces before you commit. No guesswork, no “close enough” shipped in blind.

Signs Your Tremron Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Hairline cracks radiating from the sink corners. This is the most common Tremron failure we see in Houston. The cause is almost always thermal shock, hot pans set directly on the surface, or decades of expansion and contraction in humid air. Once a crack starts, water gets under the surface and widens it.
- Seam separation at the cooktop or peninsula joint. Tremron seams are glued and clamped tight at fabrication. When they open up, it means the cabinets underneath have settled or the original installer didn’t level the deck. The fix is not just re-gluing; the substrate has to be corrected or the seam will open again in a year.
- Cloudy or hazy patches that won’t clean. This is common on Tremron solid surface in busy kitchens. The surface has micro-scratched or been etched by acidic cleaners. It can often be refinished rather than replaced, but if the haze is deep, you are looking at a new run of material.
- Edge chipping along the front profile or at corners. A dropped cast-iron pan or a heavy ceramic dish will do it. Tremron’s thinner edge profiles chip more readily than bullnosed or eased edges. Once the chip catches a dishcloth or a hip, the damage spreads.
- Water staining under the surface near faucet penetrations. If the silicone seal around the faucet or soap dispenser failed, water has been wicking into the Tremron substrate for months. You will see a dark shadow spreading from the hole. The longer it sits, the more material has to come out.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Tremron kitchen remodel in Houston runs $14,000 to $45,000, and that range reflects how much of the kitchen is changing. If you are replacing only the failed countertop and keeping the existing cabinets, you are typically in the $4,000 to $13,000 range for countertop installation including tear-out, disposal, fabrication, and installation. A backsplash repair or a single wall of upper cabinets replaced lands lower, often $800 to $2,500.
| Scope | Houston Installed Price |
|---|---|
| Countertop replacement only (Tremron match) | $4,000 – $13,000 |
| Backsplash replacement | $800 – $2,500 |
| Kitchen island replacement (surface and base) | $3,000 – $10,000 |
| Full Tremron-compatible kitchen remodel | $14,000 – $45,000 |
Every price we give is written down before any work starts. That means the quote on paper is the price you pay, not a range that grows after the crew arrives. The written estimate includes materials, labor, tear-out, disposal, and the Cedarwell Care Promise protections: drop cloths on the floors, shoe covers at the door, quiet tools during nap hours where possible, and a photo of the clean-up before the crew leaves. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the completed work. If something was not done right, we make it right. No fine print, no renegotiation.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things you can safely check, and things you should not attempt. You can wipe down the surface, photograph the crack or seam, measure the run with a tape measure, and email us the photos before committing to anything. That helps us narrow down the matching process from the start. What you should not do is try to epoxy a structural crack yourself. The adhesives big-box stores sell are not the same as the two-part color-matched systems a fabricator uses, and once a homeowner glues a seam, the clean-up for the professional repair doubles. You also should not try to lift a quartz slab alone or with a friend. A 3cm quartz countertop can weigh over 20 pounds per square foot, and a bad lift means a blown back or a shattered slab. Houston humidity does not make the job easier; it makes the substrate swell and the silicone cure slower. If the part is failed, call us at (254) 272-5240. We will send someone who knows the material.
FAQs

A properly installed and maintained Tremron surface typically lasts 15 to 25 years in Houston’s climate, though solid surface will show wear sooner than quartz. Humidity shortens the lifespan of the substrate underneath more than the surface itself. If the cabinet deck is particleboard and has been wet, the whole countertop life drops to a decade or less.
Small cosmetic cracks and chips can often be repaired by a fabricator using color-matched two-part adhesive, especially on solid surface. Structural cracks radiating from a sink or spanning a seam generally cannot be reliably repaired. The repair will hold for a season and then open again. Call us at (254) 272-5240 and we will tell you honestly which kind you have.
A single countertop replacement in Houston typically takes one to two days from tear-out to finished install, assuming the material is in stock or fabricated locally. A full kitchen remodel with Tremron-compatible materials runs three to six weeks depending on cabinet lead times and scope. We give you a written schedule with the written price, so you know which days the crew is in your home.
We stock common Tremron-compatible edge profiles, adhesives, and color-match kits on the truck for repairs, and we order exact-match slabs and sheets from local Houston fabrication partners as needed. Farbication lead time is usually five to ten business days. We will tell you what is on hand versus what needs to be ordered before you decide anything.
