Tremron Fence Installation: The Houston Owner’s Guide

Most Houston homes with Tremron paver or wall block products eventually need the fence line rebuilt, re-seated, or reinforced where the post meets the paver. We handle Tremron-specific fence installation across the Houston area, and the installed price typically lands between $3,500 and $9,000 depending on the fence length, the condition of the existing concrete or paver footing, and whether you’re replacing a few posts or the entire run. The way most owners discover the problem is a gate that drags, a post that leans after heavy rain, or a fence section that shudders when the wind off the Gulf pushes through.

This page is written for the homeowner standing in the backyard looking at a fence that isn’t sitting right against their Tremron hardscape. You probably already know the product. You want to know what it takes to fix it properly, what it costs in Houston, and whether you’re getting a repair that lasts or a repair that buys you one season. We’ll walk through all of it. A note up front: Elmstead Remodeling Houston is an independent contractor. We’re not affiliated with Tremron, but we work around their products constantly, and we know how fence installation has to change when the base is paver block instead of plain dirt or slab.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

Tremron makes a wide range of concrete paver and wall block systems, and the fence installation questions usually come from three situations. First, a fence set into or directly behind a Tremron retaining wall, like their Estate Wall or Diamond Wall blocks. Second, a fence line running along a paver patio or driveway edge where the fence posts were set before the pavers were laid. Third, a fence gate post mounted near a Tremron walkway or step system where the base shifts under repeated gate use.

Identifying what you have matters before anyone digs. Check the back of a loose block for a Tremron stamp or series mark, and measure the block height and face width. Many Houston homes have the Tremron Estate collection, which uses a larger block profile than the Diamond series, and that changes how deep a fence post footer needs to go and how we anchor the post base. If you can’t find a stamp, take a photo of the block face and the fence line where it meets the ground. That photo is usually enough for us to tell you what you’re working with before we schedule the estimate.

On parts: a fence installation over Tremron block is not a parts swap the way a fence post in soil is. The block is structural. You cannot core-drill through a Tremron wall block without risking the wall’s load path, and a post setting directly behind the wall without a proper bracket will lean within a season as the paver bed settles. The parts that do get replaced are the post bases, the bracket hardware, sometimes the post itself if rot or corrosion has set in, and the concrete footer that holds everything. We match those to the post material, not to the Tremron block itself, then install them so the fence line works with the paver base rather than against it.

Signs Your Tremron Fence Installation Is Failing

  • The post leans toward or away from the paver wall. This is almost always a footer problem. In Houston’s clay soil, a footer poured too shallow or too narrow heaves in wet-dry cycles. The post starts vertical in March and is three degrees off by August.
  • The gate drags across the top of a paver walkway. Gate posts set near Tremron pavers shift as the base compacts under traffic. The gate was adjusted once, then the ground settled again, and now the latch no longer lines up.
  • You can rock the post by hand. If the post moves at the base, the anchor is done. There is no tightening that fixes it. The footing has to be cut out and re-poured.
  • Water pools at the fence line after rain and sits for hours. Houston storms push water along the paver surface. If the fence footer wasn’t graded to drain around the post, the post soak-and-dry cycle eventually rots the base, even on treated lumber or metal posts.
  • Concrete around the post has cracked and lifted in sections. This is the classic sign the footer was poured too small for the pavers it sits near. As the paver base shifts, the footer can’t resist the sideways load, so it cracks and the post moves with it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled family room with new windows and a window seat

In Houston, a full Tremron-compatible fence installation or rebuild runs $3,500 to $9,000 installed. That includes the post material matched to your existing fence, new bracket hardware where it meets block, concrete footers poured to the right depth for Houston’s soil, and removal of the failed posts or sections. A partial repair, like two leaning posts and a dragging gate, typically lands around $350 to $700 per post plus the gate adjustment.

What drives the top of the range is the condition of the paver base. If the existing footer is cracked and we have to cut the paver base back to re-pour properly, that’s more labor and more material. If the paver edge is already compromised and we need to re-seat a few blocks before the fence goes in, that adds time. You get a written price before any work starts, and that price covers the parts, the labor, the clean-up, and the disposal of the old post material. No change orders after the crew arrives.

Every fence installation we complete is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a post shifts or the gate binds within a year, we come back and make it right. That’s the commitment on every project, stamped and written, not implied.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself. Walk the fence line and count the leaning posts. Open and close the gate and watch where it drags. Look at the footer concrete for cracks or lift. That’s a useful ten minutes before you call us, because it tells us whether you’re looking at two posts or the entire run.

Where we’d caution against DIY is the digging and the re-set. Cutting out an old footer near a Tremron wall or paver edge without undermining the block base takes a careful hand. One wrong dig and the wall block shifts, and now you have two problems. Driving a new post into clay without a footer sized for Houston’s shrink-swell cycles means you get to do this again in eighteen months. This is exactly the kind of job where the written price is less than the cost of fixing a partial fix. Call (254) 272-5240 for an exact quote on your fence line. Estimates are free, and the price you’re quoted is the price on the paper before any work begins. That’s not a special. That’s how we run every job, from a Meyerland kitchen to a fence in the Heights.
