Belgard Kitchen Remodeling: The Houston Owner’s Guide
Belgard kitchen remodeling in Houston typically runs between $14,000 and $45,000 installed, depending on the scope, layout changes, and finish selections. We stock Belgard-compatible cabinet hardware, countertop edge profiles, backsplash trim, and the mounting systems that fail first in Texas humidity. Most parts-related fixes land in the $200 to $2,500 range when it’s a focused repair rather than a full remodel. The usual pattern we see: a homeowner notices a cracked grout line behind the sink, or a cabinet hinge that no longer closes flush, and that leads to a closer look at what’s underneath. What starts as a loose handle often turns into a conversation about whether the right materials were used in the first place. That’s where we come in.
Here’s the part most Houston families don’t expect: the materials matter less than how they’re prepared for our climate. A backsplash that looks fine in a Dallas showroom can fail in the Heights within two summers because of humidity swings that move the substrate. We see it in Meyerland, Montrose, Katy, and Sugar Land alike. A written price and a covered floor before any work begins – that is where the trust starts.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To

Belgard’s kitchen product line in Houston spans three main collections: the mid-range Legacy series, the more detailed Rustique series, and the commercial-grade Permeable line for outdoor kitchens and heavy-wear spaces. Most Houston homes we work on carry Legacy or Rustique finishes. The critical compatibility detail is edge profile: Legacy uses a 4mm eased edge on its cabinet-facing trim, while Rustique runs a 6mm beveled edge. They are not interchangeable. If you order a Legacy trim kit for a Rustique installation, the reveal line will sit visibly off. We stock both.
On the cabinet and hardware side, the mounting standard Belgard uses matches the KraftMaid and Wellborn drawer-slide pattern, which means aftermarket soft-close runners from Blum and Grass will retrofit cleanly. We keep those on the truck. What we do not recommend is generic big-box replacement hinges for Belgard doors, because the cup depth on Belgard’s face-frame cabinets is 11mm rather than the more common 13mm. A standard hinge will bind. That’s the kind of detail that sends a homeowner back to the store twice before they call us. The OEM hinge runs about $12 to $18 for Belgard’s branded line, but a correctly specced Blum aftermarket hinge at $8 performs equally well and carries the same warranty our supplier honors.
We’re an independent contractor in Houston, not affiliated with Belgard directly. We spec and install their products because they hold up to our climate when they’re prepped right.

Signs Your Belgard Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Grout lines cracking along the backsplash behind the sink. In Houston, this is almost always moisture-driven substrate movement, not bad grout. The wall behind the tile absorbs humidity from the dishwasher steam cycle and expands. If the installer skipped a membrane or used the wrong thinset, the grout is the first thing to signal the problem.
- Cabinet doors that drift open or no longer stay closed. This points to hinge cup wear, especially on the door that gets the most use near the range. A single replacement hinge fixes it in ten minutes. Ignoring it lets the door skew, which ruins the reveal lines across the whole run.
- Soft-close drawers that slam shut or bind halfway. The runner has lost its damper fluid or a mounting clip has shifted. This is a parts replacement, not a full drawer rebuild. We do it while the homeowner stands there.
- Countertop seams that have widened or darkened. That dark line is moisture and food oil getting into a seam that’s failing. In Houston’s humidity, a seam that is not properly filled and sealed will darken within two years. This is the earliest warning before the seam opens completely.
- Discoloration or clouding at the faucet deck or sink edge. Mineral build-up from Houston’s hard water is the usual culprit, but clouding can also mean the sealant underneath has failed and water is wicking into the cabinet. That’s the difference between a polish and a real repair.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Part-for-part replacements in Houston, with labor and materials, land in the following ranges:
- Cabinet hinge or drawer-runner replacement: $80 to $250 per opening
- Backsplash repair (single section up to 12 square feet): $800 to $2,500
- Countertop seam re-fill and re-seal: $350 to $900
- Cabinet door or drawer-front replacement (matched finish): $400 to $1,200 per door
- Full kitchen remodel with Belgard finishes: $14,000 to $45,000
The range comes down to three things: how many openings need parts, whether we’re repairing or replacing the substrate behind the finish, and what the existing cabinet line is. A Legacy-era kitchen needs different hardware than a Rustique one, and if the original installer used builder-grade materials, the repair is more involved. Every quote includes the same line-item breakdown: parts, labor, prep, and clean-up. Nothing bundled. Nothing vague. Graham Stein oversees every estimate in Houston, and he is the one walking the job before the price goes in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
You can replace a cabinet hinge or a drawer runner yourself if you have the exact part number and a #2 Phillips driver. We’re glad to tell you the part number over the phone, even if you never hire us. Some things are genuinely that simple.
What we would not DIY: anything involving countertop removal, seam repair on a load-bearing run, backsplash repair where the substrate is soft, or cabinet door replacement that requires matching a factory finish. These involve products that, prepped incorrectly in Houston’s humidity, fail again in a season. We also ask that homeowners not try to re-level a cabinet that has pulled from the wall; the fasteners and the wall structure behind it need to be checked, and that’s not a hand-tool job.
If you’re not sure which side of the line your repair falls on, call (254) 272-5240. We’ll tell you honestly, and we won’t charge for the conversation.
FAQs

A properly prepped Belgard kitchen in Houston should last 15 to 25 years before any significant repair, with cabinet hardware and grout being the first wear items at roughly the five to eight-year mark. The finish materials themselves, the tile and countertop surfaces, are not usually the failure point. It’s the fasteners, the runners, and the sealant lines that give out first.
Yes, if the surrounding tile is stable and the substrate behind it is still sound. We cut out the failing section, inspect what’s underneath, replace any damaged board, and re-set the tile with a humidity-appropriate membrane. If the substrate is soft over a wide area, patching will fail again. We’ll show you photos either way so the call is not based on guesswork. Call (254) 272-5240 and we’ll assess it.
A hinge or runner swap takes under an hour. A backsplash section repair takes half a day, including dry time for the setting material. A countertop seam re-fill is usually a two-hour visit. We schedule parts calls in the morning whenever we can, so any adhesive has the rest of the day to cure before the family uses the kitchen.
We stock the most common Belgard-compatible cabinet hinges, drawer runners, and trim profiles on the truck. If your kitchen needs something less common, we order it with expedited shipping and typically have it in hand within three to five business days. We also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone component lines when a homeowner wants to match an existing finish from a different manufacturer.
If your Belgard kitchen has a part that’s failing, call (254) 272-5240. We’ll identify the part, give you a written price, and schedule the repair around your family’s day, not the other way around.
