Toto Kitchen Remodeling: The Houston Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Toto-compatible kitchen fixtures, faucets, and components across Houston, with full kitchen remodels running $14,000 – $45,000 and fixture-level replacements starting at $800 for a single faucet or accessory swap. Most Toto part replacements are completed same day once we confirm the model and finish. What brings most Houston owners to us is a slow drip that won’t stop, a pull-down spray head that has lost pressure, or a faucet cartridge that has started to grind, and in a kitchen that gets used three times a day, that small failure becomes a daily frustration fast.
We are an independent Houston remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Toto, which means we can tell you honestly when a part is worth replacing versus when a full fixture or counter upgrade makes more sense. Graham Stein has been handling Toto-specific kitchen work in Houston long enough to know which parts fail first, which finishes hold up to Houston’s hard water, and when the smarter move is a fixture swap instead of a patch job.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

Toto’s kitchen product line in Houston breaks into three groups we see most often. The Toto Legato series covers pull-down and pull-out faucets with ceramic disc cartridges, and most Legato models use a standard cartridge platform, so a cartridge replacement is usually under $100 in parts. The Toto Lloyd line moves toward higher-end finishes and heavier spout assemblies, and the Toto Aimes series sits in between. Here is the compatibility gotcha most owners hit: Toto changed the aerator thread pitch on several Legato models around 2019, so an older Toto aerator will not thread onto a newer faucet and vice versa. If you are trying to swap an aerator yourself, check the threading before you buy.
To identify what you have, look at the faucet body where the spout meets the base. Toto stamps a model number there on most series, and that is the fastest path to the correct part. For OEM versus aftermarket: Toto’s OEM parts carry the manufacturer spec and a one-year parts warranty, but several aftermarket cartridge equivalents are ceramic-matched and cost about 30% less. We will install either and tell you upfront which makes more sense for your faucet’s age. On the fixture side, we also work with KraftMaid cabinets, and Cambria and Silestone countertops, so if a Toto fixture replacement turns into a bigger kitchen conversation, those are brands we install regularly.

Signs Your Toto Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Faucet drips after it is fully off. This is almost always a worn ceramic disc inside the cartridge, and on Toto Legato faucets it typically shows up after five to seven years of daily use. The fix is a cartridge swap, not a new faucet.
- Pull-down spray head loses pressure while the main stream stays strong. The diverter inside the spray head collects sediment, and Houston’s hard water accelerates this. It can sometimes be cleaned, but if the diverter is cracked, the spray head needs replacing.
- Handle grinds or sticks when turning. That is the cartridge wearing against the faucet body. Toto cartridges are ceramic, so you will feel it before you see a leak. Continuing to force it can score the faucet body.
- Finish is pitting or flaking around the base. Houston’s water chemistry, especially in older neighborhoods like Meyerland and Bellaire with aging supply lines, can be hard on finishes. This is a cosmetic issue first, but once the plating breaks, the base metal starts corroding underneath.
- A slow leak at the base of the spout only when the water is running. That is the O-ring at the swivel point, and on Toto models it is a separate part from the cartridge. It is a quick fix, but if water has been sitting there, it can damage the counter finish underneath.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Toto-specific part replacement in Houston, here is what we price:
- Toto cartridge replacement: $180 – $350 installed, depending on the model and whether we need to pull the handle assembly.
- Pull-down spray head replacement: $140 – $260 installed with a Toto OEM or quality aftermarket head.
- Aerator or O-ring replacement: $90 – $180, and we usually do this while checking the cartridge while we are there.
- Full single-fixture swap (new Toto faucet, supplied and installed): $800 – $2,500, driven by the faucet you choose and the existing hole configuration.
- Full Toto-integrated kitchen remodel: $14,000 – $45,000, including countertops, cabinets, backsplash, and all fixture work.
Every price is written before any work starts, and it includes the part, the labor, and the cleanup, with shoe covers and drop cloths down before we touch a cabinet. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the completed work: if it is not done right, we make it right. We will also give you a photo of the cleaned area before the crew leaves.
DIY or Call Us?
There is one honest line here: a dripping Toto faucet is safe to live with, and checking the model number or shutting the supply valves off under the sink is something any Houston owner can do. What we would not recommend is opening a Toto faucet body yourself unless you have done it before, because the handle assembly on some Legato models uses a retainer clip that is easy to lose inside the sink, and once that clip is gone, the faucet will not hold pressure. If you have started a repair and it is halfway apart, call us at (254) 272-5240 and we will walk you through whether it is worth finishing or whether we should take it from here. A written price and a covered floor before any work begins, that is where the trust starts.
FAQs

Most Toto cartridges in Houston last five to seven years, but hard water in neighborhoods like Meyerland, Spring Branch, and Katy can shorten that to four or five, especially if the faucet runs unfiltered water. If you install a whole-home water softener, you will typically extend that lifespan. Call (254) 272-5240 and we can check your faucet and tell you realistically how much life is left before you spend anything.
A Toto cartridge generally cannot be repaired, because the ceramic discs inside are precision-ground and once they are scored by sediment, there is no resurfacing them. The good news is that replacement is inexpensive relative to a new faucet, and we stock the common Toto Legato and Lloyd cartridges on the truck. Call us for an exact quote; estimates are free.
Most Toto cartridge, spray head, and aerator replacements take under an hour once we are in the kitchen, and if we have the part on the truck, the whole visit is usually done inside 90 minutes. The most common delay is a discovery behind the faucet: a corroded supply line or a loose mounting nut, which we will fix while we are there. Call (254) 272-5240 and we will give you a written price before work starts.
We stock common Toto cartridges, O-ring kits, and aerator adapters on the truck, and for finishes or model-specific heads we typically source from our Houston supplier the same day. If you have a less common Toto model, we will tell you the honest lead time before you commit to anything. Estimates are always free, so call (254) 272-5240 to confirm we have your part.
